What I Bring When I travel

On the homepage of my blog I have a quote. “He who would travel happily must travel light.” In the past half a year or so I have succumbed to the idea of minimalism. I think that it is a great Idea to apply to travel, because it is much easier to travel with just a backpack rather than with loads of things stuffed into a suitcase. It is important to have more quality gear if you are bringing less, that is why I created this list of what I bring when I travel.

Arcteryx Khamsin 38

The Arc’teryx Khamsin 38 is a backpack built for adventure and travel. It has all the room I need to fit my gear, clothes, and shoes. There is also extra storage space at the top. It has back padding and is pretty stable. I don’t need to bring any other bags because I feel that will just drag me down and I don’t need so much stuff.

Acer Swift 3

The Acer Swift 3 is my computer. I have got it quite recently and it has been pretty reliable. I do school work, work on the blog, and do graphic design on here. It is also a great size so it fits nicely into the bag. The battery life is pretty long and I even have a fingerprint reader but I haven’t used that yet. The Acer Swift was a good upgrade from my old mac.

Wacom Intuos Tablet

This is what I use for graphic design. It is tablet that I just connect to my computer with a usb. I normally use it for when I have to draw on Adobe Illustrator which it works really well for. It is a bit disorienting to use at first but I got used to it. It’s small so it is also be very easy to fit in my bag. Check out my Fiverr gig by the way.

Crushing It!

Crushing It! is Gary Vaynerchuk’s latest book. It is a follow up to one of his earliest books called Crush It! It is all about creating a personal brand for yourself or business. He uses examples of people who have succeeded online after reading Crush It! So far the book has mainly been inspirational but also pretty insightful. A good book or podcast is a great way to spend your time on a plane.

Pair of Thieves

Pair of Thieves is actually mainly a sock and underwear brand, but I’m just talking about the cool breeze underwear. I don’t want to give too much information, but this underwear is extremely comfortable. They are perfect to wear on a long day or an adventure. That’s why I wear Pair of Thieves.

MiiR Water Bottle

This water bottle is a vacuum insulated 23 ounce bottle. It really keeps my water freezing cold and is a good size to stay hydrated. It is strong, durable, and fits easily on my bag. I don’t have much else to say about it because it works well and is pretty straight forward.

That was a list of things that I bring while I travel besides most of my clothing. They all have an important function for working, staying hydrated, and learning. This keeps me light and free while I travel.

What do you normally bring while you travel? Do you bring a suitcase just a backpack? Tell us in the comments. I’ll see you in the next post.

A section in The 4-Hour Workweek: Escape 9-5, Live Anywhere, and Join the New Rich talks more about travelling with less or just having less in general.

Right now I’m reading: Crushing It!: How Great Entrepreneurs Build Their Business and Influence-and How You Can, Too, I’m getting really inspired from it.

Soon I’ll be starting the book Loonshots: How to Nurture the Crazy Ideas That Win Wars, Cure Diseases, and Transform Industries. It was on Bill Gates GoodReads.
